Overview of the webinar

Assertiveness is a style of communication that empowers its users to speak out and stand up for themselves in a clear, respectful manner. Assertive people know what they want and how to get it without infringing on others’ rights. Assertiveness is not about being liked all the time or about making sure everyone is happy.

Being assertive delivers multiple advantages, including:

  • Giving you confidence and enhancing your self-esteem
  • Helping gain respect from others
  • Improving your decision making skills
  • Reducing negative emotions when your requests and/or needs for the business are not met

The more assertiveness you become, the better able you are to deal with problems or conflict with poise and a clear head. You will have more self-respect and in turn the respect of others. Feelings of being ignored or coerced will be replaced by feeling understood and in control of your decisions.

Why should you attend?

Do you have a hard time saying “no” to your staff? Many people in today’s society fear conflict and criticism. Let’s face it: it can be very difficult to assert yourself when dealing with staff that you are friendly with or with whom you have worked with for a long time. Often times, when dealing with conflicts or problems, it is easier to procrastinate or try to sweep things under the rug than to lose face and cause irritation of others. However, it can be crucial to deal with conflict and problems head on.

This webinar will discourse why, as a leader, one of the most important skills to master for your success in leading people effectively (as well as earning cooperation of individuals around you) is the ability to deal with all types of people and situations in a confident, poised, self-assured manner. The program will teach attendees skills to command attention, be respected by others, and to lead your team effectively.
